مَهْجُورًا
The Prophet complains to Allah that his people have abandoned the Quran.
إِنَّ قَوۡمِي ٱتَّخَذُواْ هَٰذَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ مَهۡجُورٗا
"My people have indeed taken this Quran as a thing abandoned."
Quran, Al-Furqaan 25:30
In this verse, the Messenger expresses his grief: his people have left the Quran, neither reading nor pondering it. The word 'mahjūran' means 'abandoned, set aside'. This observation invites us to reflect on our own relationship with the Book. Today, we can easily set the Quran aside due to lack of time or habit. Yet, simply opening it and reading a few verses attentively is a first step to not abandoning it.
Open the Quran today and read at least five verses while reflecting on their meaning.
