This verse reminds us that our family and in-law ties are gifts from Allah.
And it is He who has created from water a human being and made him [a relative by] lineage and marriage. And ever is your Lord competent [concerning creation].
Quran, Al-Furqaan 25:54
Allah reminds us that He created the human being from water, then established two types of bonds among people: nasab (blood lineage) and sihr (marriage alliance). These bonds are divine blessings that structure society. In our daily lives, we can appreciate these bonds by caring for our relatives and honoring our in-laws. Preserving them is recognizing Allah's power who created them.
Call a family member or in-law today to check on them.
