Asking Allah for Wisdom

In his prayer, Prophet Abraham asks Allah for wisdom and the company of the righteous.

رَبِّ هَبۡ لِي حُكۡمٗا وَأَلۡحِقۡنِي بِٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ

My Lord, grant me wisdom and join me with the righteous.

Quran, Ash-Shu'araa 26:83

This verse is part of Prophet Abraham's supplication. He asks Allah for two things: wisdom (al-ḥukm) and to be joined with the righteous. Wisdom here means knowledge and the ability to judge rightly. Abraham does not only ask for himself; he also wishes to be surrounded by virtuous people.

In our daily lives, we can also ask Allah to grant us wisdom in our choices and words. We can also seek to be around people who remind us of good and help us grow.

Today, make a sincere supplication asking Allah for wisdom and the company of the righteous.
