كَرَاهَة
Prophet Lot firmly rejects a behavior he disapproves of.
قَالَ إِنِّي لِعَمَلِكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡقَالِينَ
He said, "Indeed, I am, toward your deed, of those who detest [it]."
Quran, Ash-Shu'araa 26:168
In this verse, Lot responds to his people who threaten him with expulsion. He does not give in to pressure. He clearly states his rejection of their actions. His disgust is internal, but he declares it openly. This firmness is a form of self-control: not being swayed by the majority. In our daily lives, we may witness words or actions we consider wrong. Expressing our disagreement calmly and clearly is possible, even without aggression. It requires courage and restraint.
Today, if you see an injustice or a hurtful word, express your disagreement in one simple and firm sentence, without getting angry.
