Full Measure

This verse commands giving full measure and not causing loss to others.

أَوۡفُواْ ٱلۡكَيۡلَ وَلَا تَكُونُواْ مِنَ ٱلۡمُخۡسِرِينَ

Give full measure and do not be of those who cause loss.

Quran, Ash-Shu'araa 26:181

Verse 181 of Surah Ash-Shu'araa instructs to give full measure. It associates this action with the prohibition of being among those who cause loss. The preceding verse shows that the speaker asks no payment for his message, and the following adds to weigh with an even balance.

In our daily life, this can apply to all our transactions: giving exactly what is due, whether in money, time, or services. We can ask ourselves if we give others their full due.

Today, in a transaction (purchase, sale, giving change), make sure you give exactly what is due, without withholding anything.
