خفض الجناح
This verse invites us to adopt a humble and gentle attitude towards those who follow us.
وَٱخۡفِضۡ جَنَاحَكَ لِمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
And lower your wing to those who follow you of the believers.
Quran, Ash-Shu'araa 26:215
In this verse, Allah asks the Prophet ﷺ to lower his wing for the believers who follow him. The image of the wing evokes protection and gentleness. It is not about pride, but about humility and kindness. Today, we can apply this by being gentle and patient with those who learn from us, whether in family, among friends, or at work. Welcoming their questions with kindness, without belittling them, is a concrete way to follow this teaching.
Today, be especially gentle and patient with someone who asks you a question or learns from you.
