ٱسۡتِغۡفَار
The Prophet Salih invites his people to seek Allah's forgiveness to obtain His mercy.
لَوۡلَا تَسۡتَغۡفِرُونَ ٱللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تُرۡحَمُونَ
Why do you not seek forgiveness of Allah that you may receive mercy?
Quran, An-Naml 27:46
In this verse, Salih is surprised that his people hasten towards evil rather than good. He offers them another path: seeking Allah's forgiveness. This act is linked to the hope of receiving divine mercy. In our daily lives, we too can be quick to react with anger or mistakes. The verse invites us to reverse this haste: turn to Allah and ask His forgiveness, opening our hearts to His kindness.
Today, as soon as you feel impatience towards a negative word or action, take a minute to say: 'Astaghfirullah' (I seek Allah's forgiveness).
