جَزَاء
This verse reminds us that everyone will be recompensed according to their deeds.
هَلۡ تُجۡزَوۡنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ
“Are you recompensed except for what you used to do?”
Quran, An-Naml 27:90
Verse 27:90 speaks of those who come with evil: they will be overturned into the Fire. Then a question is asked: “Are you recompensed except for what you used to do?” This means that the recompense corresponds exactly to the deeds performed. The previous verse (27:89) mentions those who come with good: they will have better and will be safe from terror. Thus, good and evil are associated with distinct consequences. This divine justice invites us to reflect on our daily choices.
Today, before acting, ask yourself: “Is this action good or bad?” Then choose the good.
