وَكِيل
In this verse, Moses seals an agreement and declares that Allah is its guarantor.
وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ مَا نَقُولُ وَكِيلٞ
And Allah is Witness over what we say.
Quran, Al-Qasas 28:28
Moses concludes a contract with a righteous man: eight or ten years of service in exchange for marriage. He commits clearly, then entrusts the validity of this agreement to Allah. The word 'wakīl' designates the One who watches over commitments and protects them. In our lives, we make commitments: promises, contracts, given words. We can take them seriously and entrust them to Allah. This helps us to be honest and to remain serene, because He is the Guarantor of what we say.
Today, before making a commitment, say inwardly: 'Allah is Guarantor of what I say' and keep your word.
