تَوَاضُع
This verse teaches us that the Hereafter is reserved for those who do not seek exaltation or corruption on earth.
تِلۡكَ ٱلدَّارُ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةُ نَجۡعَلُهَا لِلَّذِينَ لَا يُرِيدُونَ عُلُوّٗا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَا فَسَادٗا
That home of the Hereafter We assign to those who do not desire exaltedness upon the earth or corruption.
Quran, Al-Qasas 28:83
The verse associates the Hereafter with two qualities: not desiring haughty elevation and not spreading corruption. It is not only about avoiding evil but also about purifying one's intention. In our daily lives, we can cultivate humility by recognizing our limits and serving others without seeking dominance. This prepares us to receive the Hereafter.
Today, perform a humble act: for example, greet someone first or give up your place in a line.
