This verse invites us to keep hope in Allah, even after a trial.
And when We let the people taste mercy, they rejoice therein, but if evil afflicts them for what their hands have put forth, immediately they despair.
Quran, Ar-Rum 30:36
The verse describes two human reactions: joy at a blessing and despair at a difficulty. It does not judge joy, but it emphasizes that despair is not a solution. The following verse reminds that Allah grants or restricts provision to whom He wills, showing that situations change. In life, we may go through hard times. This verse encourages us not to be overwhelmed by despair, for Allah's mercy is always possible.
Today, if you are facing a difficulty, remember this verse and make a simple supplication asking for Allah's mercy.
