اتِّبَاع الْهُدَى
This verse invites us to choose Allah's revelation over mere traditions.
And when it is said to them, "Follow what Allah has revealed," they say, "Rather, we will follow that upon which we found our fathers."
Quran, Luqman 31:21
The verse describes people who refuse to follow what Allah has revealed, preferring to imitate their ancestors. Yet revelation is guidance, while traditions can be mistaken. The next verse shows that true success is to submit to Allah while doing good. In our lives, we sometimes follow habits without thinking. This verse encourages us to check our practices in light of the Quran. Following revelation means choosing truth even if it differs from what our elders did.
Today, pick one habit or opinion you inherited and check whether it aligns with a clear Quranic teaching.
