What lies within hearts

This verse comforts the believer in the face of others' disbelief.

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِيمُۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ

Indeed, Allah is Knowing of that within the breasts.

Quran, Luqman 31:23

Verse 23 of Surah Luqman addresses the Prophet ﷺ. It tells him not to grieve over the disbelief of some. Their return will be to Allah, who will inform them of what they did. Then the verse reminds that Allah knows well what is within the breasts, meaning the most secret intentions and thoughts.

This divine knowledge is a source of consolation. We cannot fathom hearts, but Allah knows everything. So we can leave judgment to Allah and focus on our own sincerity.

Today, when someone opposes or criticizes you, remember that Allah knows your intention. Entrust your matter to Him and act with integrity.
