شُكْر
This verse reminds us of Allah's gifts and our lack of gratitude.
وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلسَّمۡعَ وَٱلۡأَبۡصَٰرَ وَٱلۡأَفۡـِٔدَةَۚ قَلِيلٗا مَّا تَشۡكُرُونَ
And made for you hearing and vision and hearts; little are you grateful.
Quran, As-Sajda 32:9
In this verse, Allah reminds that He shaped the human being and breathed into him of His Spirit. He then gave him hearing, sight, and a heart. These three faculties are immense gifts, but few people use them to recognize their Creator. Every day, we use our eyes, ears, and heart without thinking. Yet these abilities are proofs of Allah's goodness. Being aware of this helps us be more grateful and use these gifts for good.
Today, take a moment to thank Allah in Arabic: 'Alhamdulillah' for your sight, hearing, and heart, and use one of these senses to help someone.
