تَوْبَة
This verse shows us the scene of the criminals on the Day of Judgment, regretting and asking to return.
رَبَّنَآ أَبۡصَرۡنَا وَسَمِعۡنَا فَٱرۡجِعۡنَا نَعۡمَلۡ صَٰلِحًا إِنَّا مُوقِنُونَ
"Our Lord, we have seen and heard, so return us [to the world]; we will work righteousness. Indeed, we are [now] certain."
Quran, As-Sajda 32:12
In this verse, Allah describes the criminals on the Day of Judgment: with heads bowed, they acknowledge having seen and heard the truth. They ask to return to earth to do good deeds, affirming their certainty. The following verse reminds that Allah has already decreed to fill Hell, which suggests that their request will not be granted. We can draw a lesson from this: do not wait until facing the consequences to turn towards good. Today, we still have the opportunity to act, to correct ourselves, and to do good, without waiting for a moment when it will be too late.
Today, perform a concrete good deed, such as helping someone or making an extra prayer, turning sincerely to Allah.
