دُعَاء
This verse describes believers who leave their beds to call upon their Lord.
تَتَجَافَىٰ جُنُوبُهُمۡ عَنِ ٱلۡمَضَاجِعِ يَدۡعُونَ رَبَّهُمۡ خَوۡفٗا وَطَمَعٗا وَمِمَّا رَزَقۡنَٰهُمۡ يُنفِقُونَ
They arise from [their] beds; they supplicate their Lord in fear and aspiration, and from what We have provided them, they spend.
Quran, As-Sajda 32:16
The verse combines two attitudes: night supplication and spending. These believers rise to pray and plead, with hearts torn between fear and hope. They recognize that all good comes from Allah and share part of it. Today, we can imitate this trust by turning to Allah in a quiet moment, and by giving a little of what we have, even modestly.
Tonight, before sleeping, make a short supplication with fear and hope, then prepare a small charity for tomorrow.
