الْعَذَابِ الْأَدْنَى
This verse teaches us that the hardships of this world are an invitation to return to Allah.
And We will surely let them taste the nearer punishment short of the greater punishment, that perhaps they will repent.
Quran, As-Sajda 32:21
In this verse, Allah announces that He will make the wrongdoers taste a near punishment before the greater punishment of the Hereafter. This near punishment can be trials, difficulties, or consequences of our actions. Its purpose is to awaken us and push us to return to Allah. Thus, when facing difficulties, we should not despair. They are an opportunity to draw closer to our Lord, to correct our behavior, and to strengthen our patience.
Today, when facing a difficulty, take a moment to ask yourself: 'What does Allah want to teach me?' and do a good deed to draw closer to Him.
