Guiding through patience and certainty

This verse shows how patience and certainty enable us to guide others.

لَمَّا صَبَرُواْۖ وَكَانُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا يُوقِنُونَ

when they were patient and certain of Our signs

Quran, As-Sajda 32:24

In this verse, Allah mentions the leaders He appointed among the Children of Israel. They guided people by His command. The condition for this guidance is twofold: patience and certainty in His signs. The verse associates these two qualities to show their importance.

In our daily lives, we can also be guides, for our children, friends, or colleagues. To do so, we need patience in the face of difficulties and certainty in what Allah has taught us. These two qualities help us remain steadfast and inspire trust.

Today, before acting or advising someone, take a minute to recall a proof of Allah's wisdom and choose a patient response.
