عَهْد
This verse reminds us that our commitments to Allah are not trivial.
وَكَانَ عَهۡدُ ٱللَّهِ مَسۡـُٔولٗا
And ever is the promise to Allah [that about which one will be] questioned.
Quran, Al-Ahzab 33:15
The verse speaks of people who had promised Allah not to turn their backs and flee, but they broke their word. It brings together two ideas: the promise made to Allah and the fact that He will question us about it. Thus, every commitment we make to Him is a responsibility. In our daily lives, we often make commitments to Allah, such as keeping a promise, maintaining a prayer, or helping someone. This verse invites us to be sincere and steadfast in our commitments, for we will be accountable for them.
Today, think of a commitment you have made to Allah and take one small action to strengthen it.
