آيَة
This verse invites us to look at nature with attention.
أَلَمۡ تَرَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ أَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءٗ فَأَخۡرَجۡنَا بِهِۦ ثَمَرَٰتٖ مُّخۡتَلِفًا أَلۡوَٰنُهَاۚ وَمِنَ ٱلۡجِبَالِ جُدَدُۢ بِيضٞ وَحُمۡرٞ مُّخۡتَلِفٌ أَلۡوَٰنُهَا وَغَرَابِيبُ سُودٞ
Do you not see that Allah sends down rain from the sky, and We produce thereby fruits of varying colors? And in the mountains are tracts, white and red of varying shades and [some] extremely black.
Quran, Faatir 35:27
The verse begins with a question: 'Do you not see?' It draws our attention to things we see every day: rain, fruits, mountains. It describes the diversity of colors in fruits and rocks. This diversity is an observable fact, without further explanation. The following verse also mentions the diversity of colors among humans and animals. Thus, variety is present everywhere in creation. We can simply notice it and wonder.
Today, observe a fruit or a landscape and mentally note its colors. Take a minute to reflect on this diversity.
