أَثَر
This verse reminds us that our actions and their traces are recorded.
وَنَكۡتُبُ مَا قَدَّمُواْ وَءَاثَٰرَهُمۡۚ
And We write what they have put forth and their traces.
Quran, Yaseen 36:12
In this verse, Allah states that He brings the dead to life and records what each person has done, as well as the traces left behind. These traces can be good or bad influences, deeds that continue after us, or physical marks of our actions. Every day, we leave traces through our words, writings, and deeds. We are responsible for what we sow, for everything is enumerated in a clear register. This invites us to be mindful of the impact of our choices on ourselves and others.
Today, perform a positive action whose trace could benefit others, such as sharing a useful message or helping someone.
