تَوْبَة
The Prophet David, after realizing his mistake, turns to Allah with humility.
وَظَنَّ دَاوُۥدُ أَنَّمَا فَتَنَّـٰهُ فَٱسۡتَغۡفَرَ رَبَّهُۥ وَخَرَّۤ رَاكِعٗاۤ وَأَنَابَ۩
And David became certain that We had tried him, and he asked forgiveness of his Lord and fell down bowing [in prostration] and turned in repentance [to Allah].
Quran, Saad 38:24
In this verse, David realizes that he has been tested by Allah. He does not persist in error. He asks forgiveness, prostrates, and repents. This shows that sincere repentance begins with awareness of one's fault and a humble return to Allah. In our lives, we also make mistakes. Like David, we can pause, acknowledge our wrong, and ask Allah for forgiveness. This sincere return is an open door to His mercy.
Today, take a moment to reflect on a mistake you made, ask Allah for forgiveness, and decide not to repeat it.
