الْغُفْرَان
In this verse, Prophet Solomon asks Allah for both forgiveness and an exceptional gift.
قَالَ رَبِّ ٱغۡفِرۡ لِي وَهَبۡ لِي مُلۡكٗا لَّا يَنۢبَغِي لِأَحَدٖ مِّنۢ بَعۡدِيٓۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلۡوَهَّابُ
He said, "My Lord, forgive me and grant me a kingdom such as will not belong to anyone after me. Indeed, You are the Bestower."
Quran, Saad 38:35
The verse combines two requests: forgiveness and a gift. Solomon does not only ask for forgiveness; he also asks for a blessing. He acknowledges that Allah is the Bestower, the One who gives generously. In our lives, we can follow this example. We can ask Allah to forgive our shortcomings while also asking Him for His blessings. This double request shows our trust in His generosity.
Today, in your prayer, ask Allah to forgive you and to grant you a specific blessing, acknowledging that He is the Bestower.
