Servants of strength and vision

This verse invites us to reflect on the qualities of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

أُوْلِي ٱلۡأَيۡدِي وَٱلۡأَبۡصَٰرِ

those of strength and [religious] vision

Quran, Saad 38:45

In this verse, Allah tells the Prophet to remember Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He describes them as 'Our servants, those of strength and vision'. The word 'strength' suggests their power, and 'vision' their penetrating insight. The next verse clarifies that Allah chose them for an exclusive quality: the remembrance of the Hereafter.

These qualities are not limited to a past era. We can cultivate strength in our faith and insight in our choices. Each day, we can act with determination and discernment.
