شكر
This verse teaches us that Allah approves the gratitude of His servants.
وَإِن تَشۡكُرُواْ يَرۡضَهُ لَكُمۡ
And if you are grateful, He approves it for you.
Quran, Az-Zumar 39:7
In this verse, Allah clarifies that He is not in need of our faith, but He does not approve ingratitude. However, He approves gratitude from His servants. The previous verse reminds us of the blessings of creation, and the next shows how man forgets Allah after a blessing. Thus, gratitude is a way to acknowledge these blessings. Every day, we receive many blessings. Expressing our gratitude to Allah is a way to honor Him and show our appreciation. It helps us stay humble and value what we have.
