إخلاص
This verse teaches us the importance of devoting our worship exclusively to Allah.
قُلۡ إِنِّيٓ أُمِرۡتُ أَنۡ أَعۡبُدَ ٱللَّهَ مُخۡلِصٗا لَّهُ ٱلدِّينَ
Say, "Indeed, I have been commanded to worship Allah, [being] sincere to Him in religion."
Quran, Az-Zumar 39:11
In this verse, Allah commands the Prophet ﷺ to proclaim that he must worship Allah alone, with total sincerity. The word 'ikhlāṣ' means this purity of intention. The following verse mentions that he must also be the first of the Muslims, which underscores the importance of this commitment. In our daily lives, we can apply this by checking our intentions before every action. Even a small action can be valuable if done for Allah. Let us take a moment to purify our intention and act with sincerity.
Before your next action, say inwardly: 'I am doing this for Allah' and perform it with sincerity.
