هُدًى
This verse reminds us that each person is responsible for their own guidance.
فَمَنِ ٱهۡتَدَىٰ فَلِنَفۡسِهِۦۖ وَمَن ضَلَّ فَإِنَّمَا يَضِلُّ عَلَيۡهَا
Whoever is guided, it is for his own soul; and whoever goes astray, it is to its detriment.
Quran, Az-Zumar 39:41
In this verse, Allah says He has revealed the Book in truth for the people. Then He explains that whoever follows guidance benefits himself, and whoever goes astray harms only himself. The Prophet is not responsible for their deeds. This teaches us that guidance is a personal matter. We cannot force others to be guided, but we can choose our own actions. Every step towards good is a benefit for our soul.
Today, think of a good deed you can do for yourself, like reading a verse or making an extra prayer, and do it sincerely for Allah.
