الشكر
This verse calls us to worship Allah alone and to be among the grateful.
بَلِ ٱللَّهَ فَٱعۡبُدۡ وَكُن مِّنَ ٱلشَّـٰكِرِينَ
Rather, worship [only] Allah and be among the grateful.
Quran, Az-Zumar 39:66
The previous verse warns that associating partners with Allah makes deeds worthless. Here, the central verse clearly commands to worship Allah alone and to be grateful. Gratitude is not just a feeling: it is shown through sincere worship and appreciation of blessings. In our daily lives, we can show gratitude by performing our prayers, thanking Allah for what we have, and avoiding what displeases Him. Every act of obedience is a form of thankfulness.
Today, after each prayer, say 'Alhamdulillah' and take a moment to thank Allah for a specific blessing.
