الحمد
This verse shows us how the believers welcome the fulfillment of Allah's promise.
وَقَالُواْ ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي صَدَقَنَا وَعۡدَهُۥ وَأَوۡرَثَنَا ٱلۡأَرۡضَ نَتَبَوَّأُ مِنَ ٱلۡجَنَّةِ حَيۡثُ نَشَآءُۖ فَنِعۡمَ أَجۡرُ ٱلۡعَٰمِلِينَ
And they will say, "Praise to Allah, who has fulfilled for us His promise and made us inherit the earth [so] we may settle in Paradise wherever we will. And excellent is the reward of [righteous] workers."
Quran, Az-Zumar 39:74
In this verse, the people of Paradise express their gratitude to Allah. They acknowledge that He fulfilled His promise and allowed them to enter Paradise. Their first word is praise: "al-ḥamdu lillāh." This praise is a sincere recognition. It reminds us that gratitude is a natural response to Allah's blessings. Today, we can also express our thankfulness for His gifts, even the simplest ones.
Take a moment today to say "al-ḥamdu lillāh" while thinking of a specific blessing Allah has given you.
