إِخْلَاص
This verse invites us to worship Allah with a pure intention.
فَٱدۡعُواْ ٱللَّهَ مُخۡلِصِينَ لَهُ ٱلدِّينَ وَلَوۡ كَرِهَ ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ
So invoke Allah, [being] sincere to Him in religion, although the disbelievers dislike it.
Quran, Ghafir 40:14
The verse commands us to invoke Allah with exclusive devotion. This means our worship must be pure, free from hypocrisy or seeking prestige. The immediate context reminds us that only those who turn back to Allah take heed of His signs. Even if the disbelievers dislike this sincere worship, we must persist. In our daily lives, this encourages us to purify our intention in every act of worship, such as prayer or charity, seeking only Allah's pleasure.
Today, before an act of worship, silently intend to do it solely for Allah.
