تَنزِيلٞ
This verse reminds us of the divine origin of the Quran.
تَنزِيلٞ مِّنَ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
A revelation from the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
Quran, Fussilat 41:2
The Quran is not human speech. It is a revelation from Allah, who introduces Himself as the Entirely Merciful and the Especially Merciful. These two names frame the verse and invite us to receive this Book as an act of divine kindness. When we open the Quran, we can remember that every verse is a personal message from the Merciful. This awareness can transform our reading into a moment of gratitude and closeness to Allah.
Before reading a few verses today, say inwardly: 'This is a revelation from the Entirely Merciful' and read with that intention.
