The Best Speech

This verse invites us to reflect on the quality of our speech.

وَمَنۡ أَحۡسَنُ قَوۡلٗا مِّمَّن دَعَآ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ وَعَمِلَ صَٰلِحٗا وَقَالَ إِنَّنِي مِنَ ٱلۡمُسۡلِمِينَ

And who is better in speech than one who invites to Allah and does righteousness and says, "Indeed, I am of the Muslims"?

Quran, Fussilat 41:33

This verse brings together three qualities: calling to Allah, doing righteous deeds, and affirming one's identity as a Muslim. It does not say that one causes the other, but it associates them to show a beautiful balance.

In our daily lives, we can invite others to good through our attitude and words, while acting with integrity and being proud of our faith.

Today, say an encouraging word to someone to invite them to a good deed, while acting righteously yourself.
