ٱسۡتَعِذۡ بِٱللَّهِ
When a negative thought crosses your mind, this verse offers a simple way out.
فَٱسۡتَعِذۡ بِٱللَّهِۖ
Then seek refuge in Allah.
Quran, Fussilat 41:36
This verse advises turning to Allah when Satan suggests something evil. It is not about struggling alone, but about entrusting the situation to the One who hears all and knows all. The previous verse mentions patience and immense grace, as if preparing the heart for this reaction. In daily life, a harsh word, a temptation, or sudden anger can arise. Instead of dwelling on it, one can silently utter this request for protection. It is a simple reflex that refocuses attention on Allah and defuses the pressure.
Today, as soon as a negative thought or temptation arises, say silently: 'I seek refuge in Allah' and resume your activity.
