أَعْرَضَ
This verse invites us to stay close to Allah, especially when things go well.
وَإِذَآ أَنۡعَمۡنَا عَلَى ٱلۡإِنسَٰنِ أَعۡرَضَ وَنَـَٔا بِجَانِبِهِۦ
And when We bestow favor upon man, he turns away and distances himself.
Quran, Fussilat 41:51
The verse describes a common human reaction: as soon as Allah grants a blessing, one turns away and distances oneself. The previous verse shows man attributing the good to himself; the next reminds that turning away from the Quran leads astray. Here, the reminder is clear: prosperity can distance us from the Giver. In our daily lives, health, family, and work are blessings. Yet we often forget them. This verse invites us to gratitude and closeness to Allah, in all circumstances, not only in hardship.
Today, take a minute to thank Allah for a specific blessing, out loud or in your heart.
