مُصِيبَةٍ
This verse reminds us that our trials are linked to our deeds, but Allah forgives much.
وَمَآ أَصَٰبَكُم مِّن مُّصِيبَةٖ فَبِمَا كَسَبَتۡ أَيۡدِيكُمۡ وَيَعۡفُواْ عَن كَثِيرٖ
And whatever strikes you of disaster - it is for what your hands have earned; but He pardons much.
Quran, Ash-Shura 42:30
The verse establishes a connection between our actions and the difficulties we face. It does not say that every trial is a punishment, but it invites us to reflect on our choices. At the same time, it highlights Allah’s mercy: He forgives many of our faults. In daily life, this teaching encourages us not to feel overwhelmed by hardships. Instead of blaming someone, we can turn to Allah, acknowledge our mistakes, and seek His forgiveness. It is an opportunity for spiritual growth.
Today, take a moment to reflect on a recent difficulty and note one action you could improve. Then ask Allah to forgive your shortcomings.
