صَبْر
This verse invites us to practice patience and forgiveness.
وَلَمَن صَبَرَ وَغَفَرَ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ لَمِنۡ عَزۡمِ ٱلۡأُمُورِ
And whoever is patient and forgives - indeed, that is of the matters [requiring] determination.
Quran, Ash-Shura 42:43
The verse associates patience and forgiveness. It presents them as a sign of determination in matters. This means that enduring a difficulty and forgiving an offense requires great strength of character. In daily life, we may face unpleasant words or actions. Choosing to be patient and to forgive, rather than retaliating, is a courageous decision that reflects a beautiful moral quality.
Today, if someone wrongs you, take a deep breath and choose to forgive, keeping this resolve in your heart.
