شُكْر
This verse reminds us that human beings can be ungrateful when hardship strikes.
وَإِن تُصِبۡهُمۡ سَيِّئَةُۢ بِمَا قَدَّمَتۡ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ فَإِنَّ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ كَفُورٞ
But if evil afflicts them for what their hands have put forth, then indeed, man is ungrateful.
Quran, Ash-Shura 42:48
The verse describes a human reaction: when facing difficulty, we often forget the blessings we have. It specifies that this hardship is related to our own deeds. This invites us to reflect on our attitude. In our daily life, when a setback occurs, we can choose to focus on what we lack rather than what we have. Gratitude means recognizing Allah's blessings, even in tough times.
Today, write down three blessings from Allah and thank Him for each one.
