تَعْقِلُونَ
This verse invites us to use our reason to understand the Qur'an.
إِنَّا جَعَلۡنَٰهُ قُرۡءَٰنًا عَرَبِيّٗا لَّعَلَّكُمۡ تَعۡقِلُونَ
Indeed, We have made it an Arabic Qur'an that you might understand.
Quran, Az-Zukhruf 43:3
Allah revealed the Qur'an in the Arabic language. This language is not a coincidence: it allows believers to reflect on the meaning of the verses. The previous verse speaks of the clear Book, and the next describes it as exalted and full of wisdom. Thus, understanding the Qur'an is an act of knowledge. In our daily lives, we can take time to read the Qur'an attentively. Seeking to understand what we read, even a single verse, is a way to honor this message.
Today, read one verse of the Qur'an with its translation and reflect on its meaning for two minutes.
