مَهْدًا
This verse invites us to reflect on two of Allah's blessings: the earth as a cradle and the paths that guide us.
جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ مَهۡدٗا وَجَعَلَ لَكُمۡ فِيهَا سُبُلٗا لَّعَلَّكُمۡ تَهۡتَدُونَ
The One who has made for you the earth a bed and made for you upon it roads that you might be guided.
Quran, Az-Zukhruf 43:10
In this verse, Allah reminds us that He made the earth a cradle, a stable and welcoming place for us. He also placed roads upon it, paths that allow us to travel and find our way. These two gifts are linked: the earth carries us, and the paths help us move. Reflecting on these simple blessings can awaken our gratitude. Today, we can take a moment to observe the earth beneath our feet and the roads we use, and thank Allah for this ease.
Today, when you take a path, pause for a second and say: 'Alhamdulillah' for the earth and the roads Allah has provided for us.
