Degrees According to Our Deeds

This verse reminds us that everyone will have degrees according to what they have done.

وَلِكُلّٖ دَرَجَٰتٞ مِّمَّا عَمِلُواْۖ وَلِيُوَفِّيَهُمۡ أَعۡمَٰلَهُمۡ وَهُمۡ لَا يُظۡلَمُونَ

And for all there are degrees for what they have done, so that He may fully compensate them for their deeds, and they will not be wronged.

Quran, Al-Ahqaf 46:19

This verse associates with each person degrees, according to their deeds. It does not promise a specific reward, but it affirms that Allah will fully compensate without injustice. Thus, our actions have real weight.

In our daily lives, we may be tempted to compare our efforts to others'. This verse invites us to focus on our own deeds, for it is on them that we will be judged.

Today, perform a sincere good deed, even a small one, remembering that Allah will fully reward it.
