This verse reveals the spiritual depth of pledging allegiance to the Prophet.
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يُبَايِعُونَكَ إِنَّمَا يُبَايِعُونَ ٱللَّهَ
Those who pledge allegiance to you are actually pledging allegiance to Allah.
Quran, Al-Fath 48:10
In this verse, Allah states that pledging allegiance to the Prophet ﷺ is in fact pledging to Him. He emphasizes that His hand is above their hands, showing that He is witness and party to this commitment. Breaking the oath harms oneself, while fulfilling it leads to a great reward. Today, we do not take this pledge directly, but we can honor our commitments to Allah and to others. Every kept promise, every respected word, is a way to live this sincerity.
Today, fulfill a promise you made, even a small one, to honor your word.
