حَرَج
This verse shows Allah's mercy towards those who have a valid excuse.
لَّيۡسَ عَلَى ٱلۡأَعۡمَىٰ حَرَجٞ وَلَا عَلَى ٱلۡأَعۡرَجِ حَرَجٞ وَلَا عَلَى ٱلۡمَرِيضِ حَرَجٞۗ
There is not upon the blind any guilt or upon the lame any guilt or upon the ill any guilt.
Quran, Al-Fath 48:17
In this verse, Allah mentions three categories of people – the blind, the lame, and the ill – and affirms that they are not held accountable for not participating in certain actions, such as fighting. This shows that divine law takes into account each person's abilities and does not impose undue hardship. Today, we can apply this lesson by being understanding towards those with physical limitations or difficult circumstances. We should not judge or blame them for what they cannot do, but rather acknowledge their situation and support them.
