أَدَب
This verse teaches us an essential rule of etiquette towards the Prophet ﷺ.
لَا تَرۡفَعُوٓاْ أَصۡوَٰتَكُمۡ فَوۡقَ صَوۡتِ ٱلنَّبِيِّ
Do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet.
Quran, Al-Hujuraat 49:2
In this verse, Allah asks believers not to raise their voices above the Prophet's ﷺ voice and not to speak to him loudly. It is a lesson in respect and humility in communication. Today, we can apply this by speaking gently and listening attentively, especially to our parents, teachers, and elders. This behavior reflects our adab and consideration for others.
Today, when you speak to an elder or a teacher, be mindful of your tone and speak softly.
