This verse shows us how a simple gesture can reveal sincere piety.
Those who lower their voices before the Messenger of Allah – they are the ones whose hearts Allah has tested for righteousness.
Quran, Al-Hujuraat 49:3
In this verse, Allah associates lowering one's voice before His Messenger with a tested piety. It is not just politeness, but a sign of respect that comes from the heart. Allah has tested these hearts and found them worthy of taqwa. We can draw inspiration from this attitude by being mindful of how we speak, especially towards those who deserve respect. Today, without the Prophet among us, we can apply this lesson by choosing gentle and measured words.
Today, before speaking, take a second to lower your voice and choose respectful words.
