تَبَيُّن
This verse teaches us to verify any information before acting on it.
Investigate, lest you harm a people out of ignorance and become, over what you have done, regretful.
Quran, Al-Hujuraat 49:6
In this verse, Allah addresses the believers: if a disobedient person brings news, you must investigate. The goal is to avoid harming people out of ignorance and then regretting it. The previous verse speaks of patience, and the next reminds us of the Messenger among us. Here, the emphasis is on caution before believing or spreading. In our daily lives, we often receive unconfirmed messages. Before sharing information or reacting, let's take time to verify. This protects others and spares us regret.
Today, before sharing any news, verify its source with a reliable person or an official website.
