Allah already knows everything

This verse reminds us that Allah's knowledge encompasses everything.

وَٱللَّهُ يَعۡلَمُ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَٱللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَيۡءٍ عَلِيمٞ

"Allah knows whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth, and Allah is Knowing of all things."

Quran, Al-Hujuraat 49:16

In this verse, Allah tells the Prophet to say to those who claim to inform Allah of their faith: "Would you acquaint Allah with your religion?" Allah already knows everything that exists, in the heavens and on earth. He knows our hearts and intentions. He does not need us to teach Him our religion.

We may sometimes fall into the illusion that our acts of worship impress Allah or bring Him something. In reality, our faith is a favor He has granted us. Therefore, we should remain humble and sincere, without trying to show our religion to others or to Allah.

Today, do a good deed in secret, without telling anyone, remembering that Allah already sees it.
