صَبْر
This verse pairs patience with words and the glorification of Allah at key moments of the day.
So be patient over what they say and exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before its setting.
Quran, Qaaf 50:39
The verse calls for patience in the face of hurtful words. It associates this endurance with glorifying Allah, especially before sunrise and before sunset. These moments mark the day and remind us of the Creator's greatness. In daily life, we can rely on this dual guidance: remain patient with criticism and take time to praise Allah morning and evening. This helps us keep a spiritual perspective.
Today, before sunrise or before sunset, take a moment to say: 'SubhanAllah wa bihamdihi' (Glory be to Allah and to Him is praise).
