سَلَام
Abraham answers with peace to visitors he does not know.
قَالَ سَلَٰمٞ قَوۡمٞ مُّنكَرُونَ
He said, "Peace! [You are] an unknown people."
Quran, Adh-Dhaariyat 51:25
In this verse, visitors enter upon Abraham and greet him with "Peace!". He answers them with the same greeting, calling them "unknown people". The word "salām" appears twice: it is an exchange of peace, even between people who do not know each other. This verse invites us to return greetings with peace, without conditions. We can apply this by greeting those we meet, even if we do not know them, and by returning their greeting in the same manner.
Today, greet a person you do not know with "Salām" and return their greeting with peace.
