الظن
This verse warns us against following baseless assumptions.
إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّۖ وَإِنَّ ٱلظَّنَّ لَا يُغۡنِي مِنَ ٱلۡحَقِّ شَيۡـٔٗا
They follow not except assumption, and indeed, assumption avails not against the truth at all.
Quran, An-Najm 53:28
In this passage, Allah describes people who speak about angels without any knowledge. They follow only assumptions, which are mere guesses. However, assumption can never replace truth. This principle is universal: an opinion without evidence remains worthless in the face of reality. In our daily lives, we sometimes judge others or situations without checking the facts. This verse invites us to seek knowledge and avoid judging without proof. Before concluding, let us take time to inform ourselves.
Today, before judging someone, verify the facts and ask yourself if you have evidence or just an assumption.
