The Balance Established by Allah

Allah raised the heaven and established the balance.

وَٱلسَّمَآءَ رَفَعَهَا وَوَضَعَ ٱلۡمِيزَانَ

And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance

Quran, Ar-Rahmaan 55:7

This verse mentions two actions of Allah: raising the heaven and establishing the balance. The following verse clarifies that this balance is so that we do not transgress in weighing. Thus, the balance is an instrument of just measure.

In our daily lives, we can use scales literally, like weighing food, or figuratively, to weigh our words and deeds. Respecting justice in our actions means being fair to others and to ourselves.

Today, before acting or speaking, ask yourself if your action is just and fair.
